Overview
This policy explains what information FishBajt collects, why, and how it's used. FishBajt is built on Firebase (Google) for accounts, data storage, and analytics, uses Apple's WeatherKit for conditions data, and Stripe for processing store owner subscription payments on fishbajt.com.
Information We Collect
Account info: your email address (Firebase Authentication). Profile info: name, bio, address/city, and contact details you choose to add — address is used to show distance to nearby stores and members. Photos: any photo you take or pick for a catch, store listing, or profile picture, uploaded to Firebase Storage. Location: with your permission, your device's location ("when in use" only) is used to show distances, nearby stores, and driving alerts for subscribed stores. Catch logs: species, weight, length, notes, and a best-effort weather/conditions snapshot at the time you log a catch. Device identity for reviews: an anonymous Firebase identity tied to your device, used only to limit store reviews to one per device.
How We Use Information
To operate core features (showing nearby stores/members, logging catches, conditions and bite-likelihood suggestions), to let store owners manage their listing and subscription, and to improve the app via aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
Third-Party Services
Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Cloud Functions) stores and processes app data. Apple's WeatherKit provides weather/conditions data. Apple's StoreKit processes in-app subscription payments — FishBajt never sees your card details. See each provider's own privacy policy for details on their handling of data.
What's Shared With Other Users
Store listings, store reviews, and any catch you choose to mark as shared are visible to other users of the app. Catches you don't mark as shared stay private to you. Your email address is never shown to other users.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time from Profile → Account → Delete Account in the app.
Children's Privacy
FishBajt isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your Choices
Location and notification permissions can be changed anytime in iOS Settings. Nearby-driving-alert notifications can be turned off from Profile → Settings in the app without affecting any other feature.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.
